It was a hot summer afternoon. The chrome on 300 Harley Davidsons, custom cars and trucks glistened in the afternoon sun as NMF took to the stage and hit the opening chords of "Soft Touch".
The boys had been away for the past 6 months and had a new drummer. It was Matt's second gig with NMF but he played like he had been with us for years. It was good to be back playing the old favourites (Help Me, Low Down and Dirty, Before you Accuse Me) and some new stuff (Bring it on home to me and Hootrchie Coochie Man) before ending on Flatfoot Sam.
Rod Lawless from the Back Street Heroes was at the gig. In his review in March 2010 BSH he says:
"The afternoon was serenaded with blues from a blues band (unsurpriisngly) that I'd seen before. I was reminded of their name by a band member who ran up to me to say "give us a mention , Rod. We're No Mean Feat!". Asking for mention made me feel like a DJ , but I enjoyed them, so a mention is what they get."

Blues in the Barn ws a celebration of British Blues with the Blues Band; Ollie Brown, Eddies Martin and NMF. It was a good gig for NMF, Rowan stood in at very short notice on bass. The 500 hundred strong audiemce were very appreciative as NMF started the show on a wet Saturday night in a barn in Wiltshire. Ollie Martin played harp with the boys on 'Help Me' and Chris Paul who wrote 'Waiting for Another Day' was in the audience to see the boys do a rocking version. The 45 minute set flew by and ended with a blistering version of new song, 'Down in the City'. It was a great night.......

6 hours up the motorway and Maryport was buzzing. It was the opening night of the blues festival and the crowd were looking for a good time. On Friday night NMF had the final slot at the the Captain Nelson. It was packed and after the first two numbers an excited punter in a lime green suit jumped on stage and blew his sax before the set ended with a blistering version of "Working for a Living". The next day NMF played the rugby league club, more of a family venue. This gave a chance to play some slower songs, the highlights being a moody version of "Play the Blues for Me" and "Before you Accuse Me". The final day was the afternoon set at the Sailors. The capacity crowd were treated to Barry at his best, with the whole pub joining in with a rousing version of "Bring it on Home to Me". There was then 3 minutes silence for the 3 local lads who tragically lost their lives in a fishing accident earlier in the week. We set off back down the motorway... we didn't see Jethro Tull, John Mayall, Blues Band or Eric Burdon....but what a great weekend.
